Llegamos a la estación de Mónaco. Poca gente se baja del tren aquí; por lo visto, casi todos toman el tren para ir a los pueblos entre aquí y Ventimiglia, Italia. Traemos nuestro equipaje y confiamos en que haya casilleros o guardabultos donde dejarlo. No lo hay.

Después de pasar la noche en el Hôtel du Piss, salimos de ahí lo más pronto posible y nos dirigimos a la estación de tren. Ahí, tomaremos uno a Mónaco. El tren resulta ser otro guajolotero, y nos tenemos que ir parados.

Finalmente es hora de cenar, y entramos en un bar de vino. Toño le pide a la camarera que le describa las propiedades de un par de vinos que le interesan y acaba por ordenar un tinto. Cenamos pizza. ¿Pizza en la costa francesa? ¿En serio?

Caminamos por las playas de Niza. Aquí no hay arena, todas son de piedras. Y hay gente que se sienta y se echa sobre las canijas piedras, incluso por la noche. Nosotros nos cansamos de ellas y mejor regresamos a la banqueta

Habiendo dejado nuestro equipaje en nuestra habitación, salimos a buscar la comida de hoy. Después de dar unas vueltas por las calles de Niza, nos decidimos por un bistro con precios accesibles. Con nuestro francés básico, pero especialmente una camarera que habla inglés, no nos quedamos con hambre.

"Is it good?"

"Oui, c'est bon!"

Tomamos un autobús al centro de Niza y al llegar buscamos la estación del tren; cerca debe haber varios para escoger. Buscamos uno que no sea caro y nos llama la atención uno para "backpackers".

Los precios del hotel están junto a la puerta. Ofrecen desde una cama hasta cuartos sin regadera, con regadera e incluso con WC.

Pagamos en recepción y entramos al cuarto. Dos camas, una mesita y TV. Y con regadera, una cuya puerta no cierra por completo y salpica agua al piso, el cual está pegajoso. El WC es compartido con las demás camas del piso. Los pasillos y escaleras huelen a orines.

Gorgeous weather....off to the hip hop bus to see Chagall museum:)
Chagall museum.....what an amazing life he lead. Lived to 93 and painted all over the world. Has anyone seen his mosaic wall in Chicago?
