Just arrived in Munich and got a short time to chill before heading out for a walking tour of the city, some free time and dinner. Also learnt a bit about beer steins this morning just before we left St. Goar in the Rhine Valley. It's very packed but good so far!

Last night we went out in Munich to the hofbrauhaus again. We got there and the place was in full swing, packed with mostly locals ready for their Friday night. We waited for a few minutes until Kevin saw some people getting up an grabbed us a seat. We ordered our first 2 liters and settled in for a Friday night. We ended up eating dinner there too and had some really good goulash. The 4 next to us were from Canada, the U.S. and Germany.
The locals were a lot of fun to watch, across from us were a group of locals who had been there all night. Towards the end if our time there some of the older men were taking turns climbing on top of the table and singing along to the oompa band.
We both drank 2 liters, and ended up having lots of fun. The people next to us ended up being international teachers so that was really interesting. Around 1045 we decided to head back and get our stuff together for an early train the next morning. We opted to walk back instead of take the subway since it was not snowing at that time.
This morning we woke up at 6 and checked out of the "cacoon". Ate a quick breakfast at the hotel and went to the train station.
Overall, Munich was fun. 2 nights was the perfect amount of time. Would love to go back and see the English gardens in the summer and enjoy more of the beer gardens.

See the trip: Europe! So we made our connecting flight (barely) and our bags even made it to Munich so that's a good start. Looking out the window in the plane arriving into Germany I couldn't believe how much fog was out there. After a few seconds I realized all that white was actually snow on the ground! Everything was white as far as we could see.
We landed in Munich at 730am and it was 26 degrees outside.
