Apparently I'm not that good at travel blogging after looking at this. Some of my latest trips never even made it on here. My upcoming booked trips are Guatemala, Vancouver and Honduras. One of two things could happen on these trips.... Either I get better at blogging and actually write something, or I can get caught up in the moment and forget to take pictures and write. Which is what typically happens. Good Luck to me!

Floating under the pier.

Today we had a 1/2 day off to go on a boat trip down the River Gambia. One boat had a boy on it who was using a bucket to take out the water they were taking on. Just as our boat started to make fun of them, our motor stopped working! We tied the boats together and made it back.

Women waiting for water.
Termite hill
New water pump with generator and solar power. This can give water to 5 taps. The women can now water their crops without having to carry a bucket of water from far away.

Here is the farm in Kwinella. This is where I spend most of my time. Watering crops in the AM, planting/seeding, making fences, composting, collecting cow poop, digging holes, tilling, digging more holes, and watering again in the PM.

Good night

Leaving Banjul and headed for the village of Kwinella. It was a very long trip on bumpy roads. We stopped at a filling station to get gas and I ended up puking in the back of the building. A MP officer from the road side saw me and started to giggle. I should have known better from last time. Summer + Malaria pills = not good. Needless to say I then stopped taking them. I hope I don't get Malaria.

Aromatherapy in my room

Ahhh.... The LUSH Spa, where I got their signature Synesthesia massage. It is like magic. First you choose a word. My word/s was uninhibited and free. Your treatment centers around that word, using all your senses. It starts out with a room filled with dry ice. (like a haunted house.) Only here the essential oils are carried by the smoke throughout the room. There is also colored lighting. The massage is choreographed to music and hot and cold stones are used. They make a massage oil for you based on your word choice and you get to take it and a bubble bath home with you. Omg please LUSH Spa, come to the U.S.
