Well, Its been very eventful....In a nutshell- got a shower, washed laundry, drove around all day ....we actually had rain till about 4 pm.
HIGHLIGHTS
Yellowstone Grand Canyon--- Grand it was!!!
Wildlife lookout drive. We went north to the Lamar valley, no wildlife but some very amazing scenery. We got to Roosevelt Lodge at about 8:45 pm. What a quaint lodge with rocking chairs on the front porch, lodgepole pine logs inside and two massive stone fireplaces. The good news, they do not accept reservations so we decided to have dinner there. Headed back to camp, winding roads and 1 hr 1/2 later. Sleepy kids and tired parents anticipating camp breakdown early so we can try to see our animals that we hadn't seen. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
I am awakened by Jerry in the am at about 5:35. " Hey, do you want to drive to Pilgrim Creek ( in the Tetons ) to see animals, and then come back to break down camp?" I couldn't turn him down...
Off we went thru the early am fog. Oh, my gosh there's a wolf! He crossed the road and climbed the rocky ground on the other side. On a sidenote- there are less than 100 wolves in Yellowstone and we have seen two, this sighting lasted longer than the few seconds of the July 3 sighting.
After that excitement, we continued on our way. A little farther down the road Jared thought he saw a bear; Jerry did a uturn and this huge brown bear sauntered slowly across the road. All we have left to see is a moose. That's what we have been wishing for.
We finally make it to our road. We drive down to the creek. 47 deg. with a wind. Lots of new piles of bear scat since we were there last. I went to join Sis in the car while the boys looked around. Sadly we start our drive back to camp. No momma momma moose:(
Wait....whats that??? Jared says there is a moose down there. We all jump out...I don't see it yet. We start walking down to a soggy area, we run into a dad and his son, he told us there was a big bull moose and they got good pics. They wished us luck. Finally i see a bit of his rack; he is chomping at the willow leaves. I want to get closer but I am already just about 30 yds away. Jerry comes down and motions me over. The moose has moved into the open, the pictures are awesome. I have them on camera so I am unable to upload right now.
So now we are on our way to Boise then home on Sunday.

Let's say I have really looking foward to a shower since we got here to Grant Village. Madison though very beautiful lacked that feature comfort. Sooooooo my last shower was Sat night in Boise, dont worry baby wipes are abundant and I did jump in the Yellowstone river while on our rafting trip (that was peer pressure from the other mom ). I am all ready tbis morning to go to the showers and the family voted for evening. Ok I'll just put my hair up. Lots of stops in the Tetons, so we get to the tent at 9 pm. The kids want to go to the amphitheatre show at 9:30. We make it 5 min late. We have packed shower stuff and laundry for after the show. 10:30 across the street.....I am so looking foward to this shower....hmmmm I wonder when they close? I tell Jerry I will go check; WHAAAAAT?? LAST SHOWER AT 9:30, LAST LOAD OF LAUNDRY AT 9? OK they open at 7 am I guess it is off to the campground bathroom for our evening camping ritual. Last full day is tomorrow. Lots to do I feel like we need more days.

Spent the day in Grand Tetons. We saw a grey wolf in the way to our new campground last night. Pretty rare. We are searching for moose and bear. We found scat (poop for those of you don't know) from a grizzly and moose tracks down a dirt road by a creek. Pilgrim Creek. On our way back to Yellowstone now. Moose moose where are you? ???

On our way to horse back adventure.

No cell service in park so this is the time. In Gardiner, mt. Love love all the amazing sights. Swimming in the river with bison close by, the pools of many colors. Oh lets not forget the 5 mile round trip hike to fairy falls. Hiking has been vetoed by Cassandra. Jerry and I hiked up this steep hill to get the most amazing picture. Smores by campfire. I am so glad it is only Tuesday. So much more exploring to do. Until next time....

What the H#$% is wrong with this Gps. Desert road means dirt with potholes etc... My car is no longer black and we had to turn around after a mile or so... Luckily we still have good humor. Craters of moon here we come, hopefully we can find a place for some food. It is hot dry and windy.

Finally, I got our camp sites settled. I called and talked to the nicest lady at Yellowstone who gave me lots of insider advice on travel and sites. Dia was absolutely wonderful. My stress level went down so much. We will be arriving in Yellowstone on Sunday instead of Monday, thanks to Dia. Madison campground in West Yellowstone area. The only drawback is no showers until we get to Grant village on the 3rd.
