Like a huge ship going up the Seine
More live music!
Walking along the seine

Berthillon sorbets in peche et poire (the pear was to die for), followed by walks along the river and sitting behind Notre Dame listening to live acoustic music (very similar to Boyce Avenue.) Un jour parfait!

The motherlode! A huge wall with examples of LV bag styles over the past 10 or so years.
I want them all!!
Do you hear angels singing or is it just me?
Early LV trunks...many had old travel stickers on them along with their owners names and dates of travel...fascinating!

The dome of the Galleries Lafayette. A shopping paradise, for those other than myself who don't that's an oxymoron...

"Philadelphia" cheese is proudly offered alongside its French cousins. It must be Benjamin Franklin's influence!
A large group of Chinese tourists descended upon the market, touching and tasting everything. I thought the French sellers heads were going to explode in a funny clash of cultures!
Today's haul...I'm hungry!
Mmmmmm... Yellow beans, red pepper and un peu poulet roti!
Produce and fromage sellers at Place Maubert

Better stock the fridge! Off to Place Maubert for some food.

Mmmmm, filet of Atlantic char in sauce meunière with haricots verts and sweet potato purée!
Somewhere in Montmartre...
The Lapin Agile, famous cabaret during the Belle Époque.
Montmartre's vineyard where grapes are still harvested.
The original Lapin Agile sign now hangs in the Musee de Montmartre, an interesting small museum about the history of the area.
Stairs everywhere! I need a workout!
The ovoid dome inside Sacre Coeur

Montmartre's history during the Belle Époque as an artists colony and entertainment center is fascinating. Sometimes I wish I could travel back in time like the movies...

The wonderful flower market near Notre Dame.
So civilized, une tasse de the. Must be the influence of Downton Abbey.

I just saw a man with an umbrella give his umbrella to a women who was getting drenched in a downpour. She tried to refuse but he insisted. He descended into the metro and she took off another direction, smiling. I smiled too!

Now I understand why taxes need to be raised to 70% for the rich. There are huge palms and citrus trees in planters throughout the garden which they must store in the greenhouse (Orangerie) in the cold season. The upkeep and movement of all of these palms must cost a fortune! It's beautiful, but so are the rest of the trees that can withstand the climate.

Creepy capes hanging at St. Merri...very gothic
I was into the art until about the 1940's...then it started to get plain weird...
Art? Maybe for some...
St. Merri had all these big origami birds hung everywhere and was in the midst of reconstruction but you could still go anywhere you wanted.

Amazing roses in the Jardin des plantes...

I went midieval this afternoon! I love the Cluny and the unicorn tapestries. It was great to see it all again. Many of the objects are nearly 1000 years old. So amazing.

Chien avec coiffure francais!

Today I did what every French woman does, I shopped at the market for tonight's dinner. I managed to get what I needed without much confusion: un poulet roti, haricots verts, 6 oeufs et des fraises. Uh oh, j'ai oblie l'huile!
