Dinner a second time at il Piato: squid ink spaghetti with calamari, grilled vegetables on the side, and gnocchi in a burnt butter sauce. Warm bread pudding in a caramel sauce for dessert. All delicious and no wait.

Lunch at La Fonda's courtyard restaurant. A vegetable tart with chile sauce and mashed cauliflower; a turkey quesadilla for Jenny. Tasty and a nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff.

This is a nice american restaurant up off the plaza. Friendly and inexpensive, it has a nice atmosphere but feels less like Santa Fe than lots of the other places we've eaten. Has more of a California feel.
The enchiladas are hot. Not a shocking heat, but a persistent, follow you around all night heat.
(The cheese single was down the street. We discussed how it might have come to be there. Any guesses?)
