Spent the whole day at the Grand Canyon. Too much sun. No cell or internet signal for most of the day. Tons of photos to share after we eat and then return to the hotel and settle in for the night. Great day!

See the trip: Road Trippin' Back to Big DThe scenery changes so quickly in this area. One minute we are in the middle of a forested mountain filled with conifers, the next we are in a sea of pale grass and low, scrubby bushes with bare mountains off to the side.

I believe this is called Mount Freemont. It's just outside of Flagstaff and it's an old volcano that collapsed upon itself (the V-shaped indentation). It was once 16,000 feet tall, now it's 12,000 feet tall.
