Last day of work here before we leave tomorrow. We're more than ready to move on. I haven't written much here because I'm uninspired (and I don't just want to constantly whinge) but last night I managed some. It's sad to have to accept that sexism is alive and well and living in Canada of all places. And why do some wwoof hosts think it's a good idea to wait until morning to ask us to start early. I mean, if we're getting dressed 20 minutes before work then, erm, you've left it too late (see all the potential for whinging!)
We spent yesterday at market again. I had to go and help set up (which meant leaving at 7.10am), John had to hitch. It was a busy, hot day and we were glad when it ended at around 5. I met a nice old lady, originally from England and we chatted for a few minutes which was interesting. When we got back we took ourselves on a culinary tour of the garden eating blackberries, and blueberries and peas. We even tried the nasturtiums but they weren't too good.
Today we went for a swim in the lake again. There were some people swimming naked. I guess it's that sort of place. We swam out to the middle of the lake twice and rested on the raft.
It's nice to have a day off but there's nothing to do here. We're utterly bored senseless, all the time. No wifi, no tv, no books, no games. We play cards but it gets boring after a while. Hitching is difficult as there's not much traffic in our corner of the island and the main town is about 20 minutes drive away. After a day at work we want down time and end up sitting about bored.
