Managed a reasonable nights sleep and woke up, in Santa Monica on a quest to find a good coffee. Never go to Coffee Been & Leaf Tea, they suck. Found an acceptable latte at a pretty pretentious cafe, very LA. Caught the local bus back to the airport and went through the process of checking bags, all DYI, and security. So complex. Take off your shoes, belts, and anything suspicious like jewellery. Have the full body X-ray, show passports for ID. 3 and a half hours in the air and landed in NOLA. Caught the bus to downtown and walked to the Provincial Hotel, about 16 blocks. Good exercise.
Booked in and asked where was good for dinner. Went to Coop's Place and ate seafood jumbo and rabbit and pork sausage jambalaya. Took a stroll down Decateur St, very touristy. Walked down to the Mississippi river for a look, makes the Yarra look like a creek.
