Two days of vacation left.... Deciding how to spend the last days... Looks like it will be more wreck diving! The wreck diving here is phenomenal. There aren't many places that have this caliber of wreck diving so we are going to make the most of it. The wrecks are HUGE!!! And Awesome!!!

Enjoying some wine on our balcony overlooking the Mekong. It's our last night in Laos. Going to hang with elephants tomorrow then heading to Hanoi, Vietnam... Our 4th country on this trip. Only a little more than a week left before we are home.

In case you aren't sure what day it is, your chocolate pancake breakfast can remind you.

Offloading huge trucks that traveled down the river.
On the slow boat...it was nice to see the landscape from the river and river life along the Mekong. The seats on the boat definitely hit uncomfortable after a few hours. But overall I'm glad we chose this route over the bus, even if it was faster.
View of Mekong at dusk from Pak Bang.
Town of Pak Bang.
Taking the slow boat down the Mekong river to Luang Prabang. It's a two day trip with a stop in Pak Bang.

The roof of our bungalow with a view of the mountain, valley and tea.
Made it to the Akha Hill House, after a three hour bus ride and a standing ride in the back of a pickup truck for an hour down a dirt road. It's rustic but amazing!!! We're about an hour from myanmar(Burma) and Laos in either direction.

Sometimes it still surprises me that I can be in a village where people still gather wood to cook their dinner, yet have such reliable wifi service in my very rustic hillside bamboo bungalow. How the world has really changed in the last few years!

Loved the littlest Tigers. They were all sleepy this morning.

Watermelon shakes- soooo good and refreshing.
Shark Bay-- it's called that for a good reason. Snorkeled for 3 hours today, saw more black tipped reef sharks than I could count.

It's been six years since I've been on Koh Tao... It will be interesting to see how much it's changed. (...so much of Thailand has changed including the prices)

For those of you missing my traveling feet shots.
Awesome day at the beach. As a beach sand connoisseur, I have to say that I prefer the white sand, but this sand at Karon beach near Phuket was super fine - the kind that squeaks when you walk.
