Do you have an application that knows when something happened, but not where? You know when your users took a photo or uploaded a video or you know when something happens in your calendar but you don't know where it happened?
HipGeo's apps use passive and active location collection schemes to record detailed information about a user's location. This information is stored in the user's account and requires the user's permission to view either on HipGeo's website, in their apps, third parties via their API.
HipGeo's Developer API provides a rich set of REST endpoints for accessing a user's stored location information or for creating more complete location-aware applications for smart-phones or the web. Most of the endpoints require authentication; Oauth2 tokens are needed to retrieve the full set of data. Authentication with Oauth2 requires API keys (client id and client secret).
HipGeo widgets are the really easy way to add where to your when. With a little cut and paste magic, you can show where something happened with a cool popup map. Click here to find out more.
