So , we are done with the morning and having lunch with Dr. Beck. We got through engagement and goal setting, now we need to get to do behavioral interventions!
See the trip: The Beck Institute Recovery Oriented Cognitive TherapySo we had a great first day! The trainees are very engaged. They ask great questions! The roleplays were largely successful.
Paul and I got through most of our material. We start day 2 a little behind but had 2 opportunities for conceptualization, so that's good!
We had a nice lunch with Judy, Julie and Nicola (a Canadian researcher). We exchanged ideas about treatment and the wrap was tasty.
I got to meet the two people from Georgia. But that's the next trip.
My sincerest apologies to Brian. You know why.
To end the four days of training, they had a wonderful awards ceremony. They gave Dr. Sulaiman and I a large golden boom as gratitude. They presented some of the certificates. Then I had my final dinner. I had Om-Ali and many other of my favorite dishes. I ensured I only ate foods that "travel well" in the stomach on a 13 hour flight. I owe a great apology to Dr. Bassem and the others for giving them such anxiety. I was intent to enjoy my final dinner (and dessert) in Kuwait (for this trip). I learned enough Arabic. When they said you need to go, I said "la, la." and kept eating (and ordered coffee). I have not taken so many pictures since my wedding.
BTW, I made it to the airport.
I'm am getting ready to leave for the final dinner. They are having a large dinner on the bay celebrating the training. I will be sad to leave and happy to head home.
