Rainy Tintagel and sunny Daymer Bay!
Rainy Tintagel and sunny Daymer Bay!

Rainy Tintagel and sunny Daymer Bay!

Today it rained. And rained. And rained and rained and rained! We drove to Tavistock in Devon (where it rained), then through Dartmoor (where it rained and was foggy), over to Tintagel, where it stopped raining for 5 minutes - enough time to buy a jumper from the surf shop and pasties from Pengenna... Then it started raining. So we drove to Boscastle where we thought it might stop raining but it was a bit of a trick and it continued to rain. So we thought we'd go for a walk on Trebarwith beach, but the tide was in (and it was raining), so we aborted that plan and went to Daymer Bay... where <drum roll> the sun appeared!! We had a lovely walk along the beach and up the hill. We even saw some blue sky which was rather amazing!! Seems fitting that we are in Cornwall on the last day of 2012... It's been a truly brilliant year! :o) xx

Had an awful night's sleep last night as God seemed unhappy we've come and sent rain, hail and the most amazing thunder and lightning to keep us awake. The place actually shock at one point and a car alarm went off. Not too relaxing! Still, that out of the way we've had a really nice leisurely lunch with Matt and Amanda today right by the beach at Porthtowan. Great chips! Mmmm! Popped to Padstow on the way back for a little wander round and enjoyed the slightly non Christmas related Christmas lights. Was a sea serpent in the Nativity somewhere? Back at the shack now with the fire going nicely and Win's just got the ice cream out. :-)

After a loooong drive to Somerset we made it to the Five Dials for lunch with Linda and Pete. Much needed food, drink and use of facilities! Set off again at about 1530 and the rest of the journey was much more pleasant (mostly because I instructed Andrew to only wake me up when we entered Cornwall!)
So far we've been to Tescos and stocked up on junk and now Andrew is doing the manly thing and making fire. LP x
